STAYING IN TOUCH POST CORONAVIRUS ART CURATING
Pseudo documentary by Robertina Šebjanič, Louise Mackenzie, Karolina Żyniewicz and Isabel Burr Raty and Dalila Honorato
Edited by Pavel Tavares
Developed on behalf of Cultivamos Cultura in the framework of Biofriction digital art residency by the working group Art Shows and Public Health
Premiered by the Creative Europe project BioFriction on 23rd July 2020 online
Working remotely across Slovenia, the UK, Poland, Belgium, Greece, USA and Portugal the group developed a speculative fiction in which art is the virus and art practitioners act as frontline workers. Braiding historical and contemporary art, architectural and bio-art practices, the group developed potential futures for post-pandemic art spaces, resulting in a fictional account of a series of art exhibitions that coincide with a pandemic event. The research was synthesised in the form of a pseudo-documentary.
In this pseudo documentary Isabel interprets Soladite Carnelian, who is in charge of the Wear-Able Departments of the Staying in Touch exhibition for the Museum of Modern Art. She is an astrophysicist, microbiologist and a psychic, who survived a thunder stroke and since then her sex snake is awake.

A small group of people retreats into a shop window in the city centre for a week. By tracing and acknowledging physical perceptions and intentions, the performers try to give voice to what usually lies hidden in the human body. At the same time, Sitting with the Body 24/7 relates to an urban environment and the possible disruptions it may bring.
