IT'S NOT POST IT'S HAPPENING IN MY GARDEN!
(BE)
The (Power Plant) Village morphologies research station at the artist's open air studio, in the middle of the apocalyptic Belgian countryside.
Drawing inspiration from Amerindian Multiperspectivism, proposing Body as a space for non-biological kinship which offers affiliations with difference through affinity. (*Viveiros de Castro, Eduardo (2009).
The Village experiments with an abundant bio-electrical power: sexual energy, transfusing it into a central unit that runs an off-the-grid community and agriculture system of atomic and molecular fusions.
By which a pleasure consented community labour awakens and cultivates hallucinogenic neurotransmitters, such as endogenous DMT that alters states of consciousness, opening potentialities of cognition and perception. Whereby happy hormones (oxytocin, dopamine, endorphins…) are molecularly incorporated into the crops and housing constituents, entering in a reciprocal living loop with the inhabited morphologies. While the affects (memories, feelings, emotions) that are stored in the bodies are dis-charged and transformed into collective visions.
Thus, the Village imagines a self-regulating community of bodies, that like unstable electrons release energy in the process of power generation, allowing ecstatic flow to cut through materials, welcoming multiplicity and generating possibilities of becoming.
Since early 2023 Isabel turned 150mt2 of the backyard of the house she inhabits at the Belgian countryside into an open air studio, to start experimenting with components that would make up the morphologies of the Village. Inviting specific guests to embody tunnelling trials.
The surrounding landscapes are composed mainly of GMO farms that deplete rhizomes. The piece of land Isabel works on has been re-generated.
